It’s mid-September, and Lake Garda is glowing under the heat of a late summer day.
Walking through the charming streets of Salò, I avoid the sunny promenade and head to the apartment where Rebecca is getting ready.
Inside, laughter echoes—friends, her mum, and two twin girls run around the room.
The atmosphere is light, joyful. I greet Samantha Pretto, the makeup artist. We often work together between Lake Garda and Lake Como, and she’s always incredible at calming even the most nervous brides.
The moments between moments
I could tell you every part of this beautiful wedding on Isola del Garda—the boat ride, the stunning views from the island, the emotional speeches, the candlelit dinner, the laughter during the ring exchange.
But today, I want to talk about one moment.
Actually, something even more subtle—a moment between moments.
As a wedding photographer on Isola del Garda, I often rely on experience to anticipate key events. But sometimes, what matters most happens quietly, unexpectedly.
Near the window, Rebecca’s mother opened a box, took out an envelope, and began to read.
She did it slowly, carefully.
That’s when something happened—a fleeting hug, a glance, a shared silence filled with meaning.
One photo, just one frame, captured it all: the connection between mother and daughter. The kind of emotion that doesn’t need words.
This is what I look for when I photograph weddings—not just what happens, but what is felt.
A wedding on Isola del Garda, full of beauty
Of course, Rebecca and Richard’s wedding was stunning in every way.
The private boat trip across the lake, the ceremony on the island, the golden light during the aperitivo, the laughter under candlelight—it was a perfect day.
Working as a wedding photographer on Lake Garda, I always feel inspired by places like Isola del Garda: majestic, intimate, suspended in time.
But even more than the setting, it’s these moments between people—the ones that only happen once—that truly make a wedding unforgettable.

She reads a letter to her daughter, they are both moved, they hugs each other , dry their tears.

Right at the end of the hug, I am a couple of feet away, they both slightly tilting their heads, eyes down, mouth expressions, in exactly the same way.

It lasts a while, but the photo saved it.
In this split second the hug is continuing, there is a strong connection between mother and daughter.
