Every time I am engaged for an editorial photo shoot, a shooting where there is no rush, there is a great team and a unique location like Sirmione in Lake Garda, I start studying, pulling books out of my library.
It starts from the absolute master Peter Lindbergh, A different vision on fashion photography
It’s a huge book, featuring incredible photos of 80’s and 90’s.
Franco Carlisi, Il valzer di un giorno
It was a gift from my wife, a great Sicilian photographer, with a very particular eye.
Avedon: Murals & Portraits
A book as surprising as its author
Brassaï, Paris
The night, the rain in the streets of Paris. A discreet, elegant photographer.
Luigi Ghirri, Still Life
Here I clean my mind of all the Instagram’s that crowds it.
Poetic and almost surreal atmospheres.
Dense and intense books, they must be leafed through and re-leafed until they are ruined.
So my mind turns and warms up for a new photo shoot.
The location of this shooting is the great Lake Garda and the team is below:

A folkloristic note, the Riva in the photos, the only one green Riva in Italy, was used in the shooting of Christopher Nolan‘s film Tenet.
For a few seconds he appeared guided by the protagonist off the Amalfi coast.
Paolo, the owner, told me about the incredible Hollywood organization and staff.
